The CDR thanks our friends at Comcast for working on some major projects around the Dining Room recently. These included painting the dining room, back porch and bathroom and performing a deep cleaning of our kitchen and pantry. They also purchased a new freezer for us and filled it full of quality fresh meats! We are very grateful for this community support from our Comcast neighbors!
Connex Credit Union recently opened a new branch in Branford. During the ribbon cutting, Connex made a $500 donation to the CDR as a way of thanking the community for welcoming them. The new branch made a commitment to donate an additional $10 for every checking account and loan opened at the Branford branch through March up to $500 to the CDR. Thanks to the Branford community, Connex surpassed its goal and was able to contribute the full $500!
Walking for Wellness Meet at the CDR every Wednesday at 11:30am for a brisk 15 minute walk through town before lunch. A great way to work up an appetite, catch up with friends, and take a few steps towards a healthier you!

CDR Sponsors Free Mammography Screenings
Yale-New Haven Hospital and Smilow Cancer Hospital will sponsor free mammography screenings for the community on Wednesday, April 24, from 8:00am to 2:30pm at the CDR, 30 Harrison Avenue, Branford, CT. Each appointment takes 15 minutes. To schedule an appointment for your free screening, please call Melissa Branch at 203.488.0447 no later than April 10, 2013.
9th Annual Shoreline Walkathon
Thank you to all who participated in the 9th Annual Shoreline Walkathon. We welcomed our largest crowd to date, with over 200 walkers, and raised critical funds for the CDR’s programs and services while enjoying a stroll through Branford center to Foote Park. Music, food, glitter tattoos, and special guests Unk DaRos and Chris Velardi completed this special day. Thank you to all of our walkers and our volunteers for your support, see you next year! 2nd Annual HOPE Gala
March 25th, 6pm at Woodwinds in Branford
Join us for Arti Dixson’s 2nd Annual Help Our People Event, a fundraiser for area foodbanks including the CDR. Tickets are $35 each plus a bag of food and include a wonderful evening of music by the Arti Dixson Swing Band and professional swing dancers! For more information, click here.
Many thanks to all of our friends who supported the CDR at this year's Holiday Shopping Expo, held at the Pine Orchard Club back on December 5th. The event was graciously organized as a fundraiser for the CDR, and resulted in a very generous donation of over $6,000 to the CDR. Our most sincere thanks to all of the organizers and attendees.

Lenny & Joe's Fish Tale
Thank you to Lenny & Joe’s Fish Tale for generously donating proceeds from rides on their magical carousel last Saturday to the CDR.
Many thanks to Francine Sears and her team from Fabrique! The CDR was the recipient of funds from their recent sample sale, which raised over $2400! These funds will be used to sponsor the CDR's 25th Annual Thanksgiving Feast this coming Thanksgiving Day. Please join us at the CDR from 12 noon until 1:30pm for a wonderful meal, courtesy of Fabrique!

Gather your family and friends for this annual event held at the beautiful Owenego Inn in the Pawson Park section of Branford. Each year hundreds of people walk together to raise funds to support the CDR!
WEEKENDS IN OCTOBER Make Your Own Scarecrow
Join us at Bishops Orchards each weekend in October - including Columbus Day - through Halloween to make your own Scarecrow!
OCTOBER Rocktoberfest

The CDR congratulates Capital One for being recognized in The Civic 50 for their corporate citizenship. Over the last several years, Capital One's volunteers have regularly donated their time to our organization as part of their community engagement program.
