How to Help

Consider making a monetary donation to the Community Dining Room - Support CDR nutritional programs!

Donate Money and increase your giving power - the CDR shops at the Connecticut Food Bank which is our major source for perishable foods.

Donate Securities - giving appreciated securities might have additional tax benefits for you that should be discussed with your accountant or attorney. Contact the CDR for more specific information about how to make the donation.

Your tax-deductible donation will support the many programs and services offered by the CDR to Shoreline residents including daily lunch, home delivery option, nutritional support for seniors, children and family dinner with literacy developing story time and free book distribution.. Please see the What We Do section for more information or contact Pat Kral, (203) 488-9750, to learn how your donation will be put to work.

March is National Nutrition Month
In recognition of National Nutrition Month, in March the CDR will be serving more fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and fewer sweet desserts. Please join us in this effort and be especially mindful of good eating practices this month and beyond. Increased awareness can improve diet and health in general. Here's to improved health and well-being through nutritious eating!

Chili for a Cause
Sample Branford's finest chili as part of the Chamber of Commerce's annual Chili Challenge for a Cause. The event will take place on Saturday, March 29th from noon-3pm at various downtown Branford shops and restaurants. The Parthenon Diner has selected the CDR as its favorite charity; if the Diner wins the chili challenge, a donation will be made to the CDR. Be sure to stop by Envy in Downtown Branford during the event to sample the Parthenon's chili and then vote for the Diner to win.
