How to Help

Consider making a monetary donation to the Community Dining Room - Support CDR nutritional programs!

Donate Money and increase your giving power - the CDR shops at the Connecticut Food Bank which is our major source for perishable foods.

Donate Securities - giving appreciated securities might have additional tax benefits for you that should be discussed with your accountant or attorney. Contact the CDR for more specific information about how to make the donation.

Your tax-deductible donation will support the many programs and services offered by the CDR to Shoreline residents including daily lunch, home delivery option, nutritional support for seniors, children and family dinner with literacy developing story time and free book distribution.. Please see the What We Do section for more information or contact Pat Kral, (203) 488-9750, to learn how your donation will be put to work.

Business Collaborations

The Community Dining Room is always looking for opportunities to collaborate with for-profit businesses to help meet the needs of our community. These relationships enable for-profits to give back and enrich the communities in which they do business by supporting the mission of the CDR.

We'd like to highlight three such relationships:

Cintas has provided cleaning and painting services to the CDR for many years, in addition to monetary donations. Learn more at www.cintas.com.

Howmet Turbine Components supports our Tuesday Family Dinner program, cooking, serving, and purchasing all food required. Generous donations have also come from their parent company Alcoa, www.alcoa.com/howmet/en/home.asp

The Branford Green Grocer has donated fresh food and local produce to the CDR since its opening on the Branford Green this summer. They have also offered art supply drives for the children served by the CDR and other creative fundraisers. Visit them at 1036 Main Street in Branford or on the web at www.branfordgreengrocer.com.
